Lionel Messi will headline a star-studded line-up for the ‘Match for Peace‘ tribute to Argentine footballer Diego Maradona in Rome on November 14, organizers announced on Monday.
Apart from Messi, former Brazilian star Ronaldinho, Italian World Cup winner Gianluigi Buffon and Roma’s Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho have appeared in a video published by the WEPLAYFORPEACE platform for the third edition of “Match for Peace” organized by a foundation. Former World Cup winner Maradona died in November 2020 at the age of 60 due to a heart attack.
The match will be played at Rome’s Olympic Stadium on November 14, less than a week before the World Cup kicks off in Qatar.
